B.J. Purvis

Hey guys, I’m B.J. I am a graduate of Columbus High School and Auburn University…WAR EAGLE! I love sports of all kind, but especially football and surfing. I have surfed Florida, California, Hawaii, and even Costa Rica. My interests are traveling to new places, meeting new people, exercising, and just having fun! I like to make people laugh and am always the life of the party!

During High School I was involved in the High School Ministry here at Cascade Hills. I had a great time, met many life-long friends, and made some awesome memories. Some of the best times of my life came as a result of my involvement in the High School Ministry, which is why I want to be involved in it again! I believe it is now my responsibility to make sure that today’s high school students have the same amazing experience that I did. I look forward to meeting students on their turf. I think great High School Ministries have one thing in common, they’re relational. It’s not just about getting students to come to our events, it’s about going where they are, building relationships with them, and ultimately, teaching them how to live a Christ-centered life.

Loryn Purvis:

Hey y’all, I’m Loryn! Just to let you know a little bit about me, I graduated from Columbus High School and then Columbus State. I love being outdoors- at the beach, by my pool, any place where the sun’s shining! I have a wonderful family with two loving parents and an awesome sister named Chelsey. This summer I  married BJ, my high school sweetheart, and we've been having a blast!!

During high school I played softball for CHS, as well as on a traveling ASA team. I also spent a lot of time doing things with Young Life like going to Sharptop Cove for weekend camp and work crew. My involvement with Young Life during high school and the awesome relationship I had with my Young Life Leader, made me want to continue my involvement in college. I became a leader at Hardaway High School where had the chance to build tons of relationships with some awesome girls. I always have a blast hanging out with my girls, and am humbled by the opportunity I have to model for them what it looks like to live my life walking with Christ.

My experiences being a Young Life Leader fueled my passion for Youth Ministry. I love working for the High School Ministry at Cascade Hills, and look forward to making many new relationships along the way.
