"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
This summer students from Cascade Hills went to BigStuf Summer Camp where they had the time of their lives!! Not only was the Camp a blast, but the students walked away from their experience closer to God, deeper in their walk with Christ, and with a greater understanding of how important it is to give back to those who do not have as much as them.
While at Camp students learned about an Organization called the 410 Bridge. The 410 Bridge is a group that has undertaken a 1.3 million dollar project to clean up the drinking water in several communities throughout Kenya, and our students want to be a part of it!
More than 300 Million people in Africa do not have clean drinking water. Each year 1 million children die from water-born diseases. Mothers are walking from 7 to 10 miles each day simply to collect water to use for their families, and often times, this very water is killing their children.
For this reason the students at Cascade Hills are raising money to help fund water relief in Kenya. They will be selling bottled water at their schools, at Church, and around the community. The profit made from each bottle sold will go exclusively towards providing clean drinking water to a community in Kenya. |
